Dear Covid, You are SUCH an Asshole

Too Soon?

I’ve scoured the interwebs and chatted with 756 different doctors- my research has been summarized in this short list of facts regarding the pandemic and all plans going forward! Please be sure to print this off and toss it on your refrigerator for future reference!

1. School and sports will be in, until they aren’t – mark that on your calendar

2.  Goggles are effective in making sure that Covid does not land in your eyeball – but that could change before midnight so keep an eye on the news – no pun intended

3. Masks are helpful so that you do not spread germs to other people – today you should wear masks but tomorrow we may ask you to stand on your head while simultaneously rubbing your belly instead (but seriously- wear your damn mask)

4.  2020 is an election year, and get this, you can cancel your cable subscription – all reality TV and drama can be found for free on any of the 60 social media platforms – live and in action right from your living room and WITH your own friends and family members

5.  Judgement levels are at an all-time high so no matter HOW you are living your life through this pandemic, you are doing it wrong to at least 689 people – yeah, I know, you thought you were doing SO WELL  - WELL YOU WERE WRONG

6.  TikTok will not be going anywhere – but when it does – someone will just create a new app that does the same thing – it is science

7. For the remainder of the pandemic, all shopping trips will be done at record speed. For the first time in history you have an excuse to NOT recognize all those people. Congratulations, Scroodge

8. Exercise helps you stay healthy and live longer but can also cause shortness of breath – so do not exercise – because shortness of breath is a symptom of covid

9. Dogs can carry Covid but they can’t pass it to humans – but only until they CAN pass it along to humans– so don’t let anyone pet your dog – actually, you should also stop petting your dog too

10. Life is hard- Covid makes it harder- together we can support one another, do better at keeping an open mind and realize that we are all doing the best that we can

Guys, I hate to use huge scientific words here, but Covid-19 is an ASSHOLE.  All joking aside, the havoc and tragedy that this virus has caused is irreversible and downright scary.  My thoughts are with every single person who has lost someone to this virus and to those who are hanging by a thread in their attempt to adapt and make things work in their everyday lives.  I can act tough all day long but I would be lying if I said I was not scared shitless.

It does not matter what your beliefs are on the subject, how you feel politically, or where you stand on where this virus came from – she ain’t going anywhere and you have two choices: adapt or fold.  For the first time in most of our lives we have lost control over how we operate in our day to day lives and how we make plans.  With so many unanswered questions and the ever-changing executive orders, it is extremely difficult to decipher between “survival” and doing the “right thing.” It is hard to picture life going back to what we remember, but part of getting through this crazy time is accepting that this is actually it- this is real life-and we have no idea “when” or even “if” things will ever go back to what we consider to be “normal.”

At Intrepid things have been just as difficult-  I have worked hard to adapt and try to offer more options so that you can do classes in the studio or join us live from the safety of your home.  Class sizes have decreased.  Procedures have been put in place to monitor symptoms and possible exposures.  I will do everything in my power to keep our athletes safe while moving forward – and I will do that knowing that it could change by the day.

If you are on the fence about jumping into the first block of training but you would like to continue with a disciplined program, please consider contacting Intrepid about our live virtual options.  Not only will your program be closely monitored and coached but you will get the same studio feel.  Motivation and accountability are key when hiring a coach and I can promise you that whether you are in the studio or in your home, you will get that from me.

Please remember to support your local businesses as much as possible – we need ya more than ever!
